ReVision Theatre is a professional regional theatre company dedicated to producing invigorating theatre with a fresh new perspective reaching the diverse community of Asbury Park, Monmouth County and beyond.

ReVision Theatre produces reinventions of previously produced classics, overlooked or forgotten work in a new way, and new work with a fresh voice. The company serves as a nurturing home for local artists and writers. ReVision Theatre produces readings, workshops, cabarets, concerts, and fully staged productions.

Seeking:

We are seeking Equity and Non-Equity performers that can work as New Jersey (Asbury Park) Local Hires, or have housing within commuting distance ONLY. Our theatre is convientently located just two blocks from the Asbury Park, NJ Transit station.

Breakdown:

MICHAEL - A former actor-turned-market research executive. He is Jon’s roommate and best friend. Character Doublings include: COUNTER GUY, DAD, and MARKET RESEARCH GUY. Male, 25-35 yrs old. Range: Bb2 – Gb4

SUSAN -A dancer and Jon’s girlfriend. Sexy, kind, independent. Character Doublings include: KARESSA, ROSA, JUDY, and MOM. Female, 20-30 yrs old Range: A3 – D5

JON (CAST, seeking possible understudy/replacement)- A struggling composer on the brink of his 30th birthday. Michael’s roommate and Susan’s boyfriend. Male, 25-30 yrs old. Range: A2 – A4

Synopsis:

‘Tick, Tick, Boom!’ is the autobiographical tale of Jonathan Larson – a struggling, young composer on the brink of turning 30 with his life seemingly going nowhere. The musical shows the composer’s journey that led to the Broadway mega-hit, ‘Rent’. About to turn thirty and still waiting tables for a living, Jon is desperately scared of his future. The pressure on Jon increases as his girlfriend announces that she wants to get married and move out of the city. Further, his best friend Michael has abandoned the Bohemian lifestyle and is now making it rich on Madision Avenue.

Please bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume.

Prepare a brief song appropriate for the role in which you are auditioning. Have a second, contrasting piece prepared.

An accompanist will be provided.
